Wonderful Friend....Lived Life...Didn't just Talk about doing it!

I met Rich over 20 years ago.... along with Randy his friend and my still great friend Steph back in Red Bluff. Those two guys took us on that crazy ass ride on RHONDA ROAD with the lights out...I knew we would always be friends! I am in just shock, with the call I just got from across the country in North Carolina. I hung up the phone and a flood of over 20 years of memories came rushing back. Rich was never my boyfriend, just always a great friend! So many years of sitting by his side while he'd been sick, during the death & attending the funeral of his own brother with him "November Rain"played for him, how horrible this must be for his family, our helping me get along with my horrible boyfriends back in the "day", and our forever long distance relationship, yet never ending heated conversions where I AM ALWAYS WRONG & RICH seemed to be right! Some many years with Rich I watched him crash everything,INCLUDING a plane into the Sacramento River in Red Bluff, HIT BY A TRAIN in Red Bluff, cars, Kidney transplant(s), get away with just about everything, & his life dreams out to fullest ,this is not the end of the story I had hoped, I know he still had so much more to do. My friend is in a better place now. My heart goes out to his family, no words will make this time easy. I can only thank Rich's parents for a son like Rich, who was not always a fun friend to have, but was a friend, a friend I could call from whatever state I Lived in at the time, whatever time zone and talk about whatever I wanted! Then you know he would turn it around to about himself! That's why we love him! I will always love you Rich May...Loving you always....Your life long friend...

I will post his Obituary when the Red Bluff Daily News Posts It.

BLACK BUTTE LAKE - Two personal watercraft collided about 3:34 p.m. Saturday on Black Butte Lake near Grizzly Flats in Glenn County leaving one person dead, the Glenn County Sheriff's Office said Monday.
Richard May, 39, of Red Bluff received major injuries and was pronounced dead after being transported to the Buckhorn Recreation Area boat ramp in Tehama County. Witnesses said Patrick Konu, 24, of Red Bluff, was about 30 feet behind May to the right when for an unknown reason May turned into Konu's path.
The Glenn County Sheriff's Office will conduct the watercraft accident investigation while the Tehama County Sheriff's Department is handling the coroner's investigation, the GCSO said.
Both personal watercrafts were transported to the Glenn County Sheriff's Office where they will remain until the investigation is complete.
