Veterans Day, Thank you! UPDATED 740pm

One year after World War I drew to a close, President Woodrow Wilson declared November 11, 1919 as Armistice Day--a national holiday to celebrate victory in "the war to end all wars." Yet the dream of world of peace was soon shattered as first World War II, then the Korean Conflict called America's troops back to the battlefield. In 1954, Armistice Day was re-named as Veterans Day, a fitting tribute to all the men and women who have defended the cause of freedom around the world.

These people need to be THANKED everyday for Protecting everything we have come to love here in the good old USA. My life is built around so many of the people above on my list. Add your list in my comments and I will add it to mine also.
But what I didn't add in are the wives and children who should also be thanked for holding the families together while Dad-Mom are gone to do what they love...PROTECTING US- PROTECTING YOU. The WIVES really need a huge thank you,(and a sign too LOL) as a marine wife I feel like I am in the service too, the forgotten one...as do many of us wives..Many months alone, no dads for the births of our babies, first steps, first words, first day of school, birthdays,Annv, holidays, turning of the seasons, bad days, good days, you name it we have all done it alone, BUT, there is no prouder moment than when I get to say, I am married to a UNITED STATES MARINE!!! Besides....we like making welcome home signs...On that note...the kids and I do without our marine for only 6-8 months at a time and he always returns to us, there are many other wives, that are not so lucky, Today is for you too, don't forget that!
