The Ball...

So after waiting a few years for this ball...it came at last! Can you believe that some people, marines but mainly wives HATE the ball!They moan, oh I don't want to spend the $$, or I don't want to waste my time, its boring, too far away, or the food isn't good enough for them, I'd rather sit at home.......the list goes ON! Not Kirk and I. We look forward to it every year. Why would you dislike going to something not everyone has the honor to enjoy. The ball is the one day of the year marines are honored like they should BE! This ball was wonderful. The location was so nice and on the water. It was very cold, but what can ya do...STAY INSIDE!Our room was very nice and HUGE... The guest speaker Knox, was super! The youngest marine for the cake cutting was born in 1987..The oldest marine joined in 1978....I bet he felt OLD...I know I did!(well I am old). Overall we visited it with many old friends and new friends. The night was everything I had hoped it would be for Kirk and I. Kirk was by far the best looking with his new Blues...He was happy I pushed him into buying those, it was worth every penny, he was so proud, plus he loaned out his old ones...(everybody grew this year..me included...lol)

The New Bern 230th Marine Birthday Ball, was just the beginning to the many more to enjoy here in NC....
